Built on experience. Guided by purpose.

TaxFunders Financial Group was built from a simple belief: important financial decisions should come with understanding, not confusion. We bring education, structure, and strategy to credit, taxes, and the financial picture around them — so the people we work with can see what is actually happening and decide what comes next.

Learn why TaxFunders was built

Education first. From the inside out. Learn deeply. Explain clearly. Build strategically. TaxFunders is built on a simple standard: keep learning, keep asking better questions, and turn that knowledge into clearer education and more thoughtful strategy for the people we serve.

Why TaxFunders was built

Two different moments. One lesson: understand the whole picture.

A high-interest vehicle financing experience taught Steven Figueroa that approval alone did not mean a decision was financially sound. Years later, a tax return he had trusted raised a different concern when the home-buying process brought those returns back into focus.

Different areas, the same realization: important financial decisions get harder when you don’t understand what is underneath the numbers. That is what shaped TaxFunders.

  1. The approval

There was a time when Steven made many of the same credit mistakes people make every day. Years later, when he was approved to finance a vehicle, he thought getting approved meant his credit was finally in a good place.

  2. The rate that changed how he saw credit

Then he saw the interest rate. He had been approved, but approval didn’t mean he was financially positioned well. When he looked at how much of each payment was going toward interest, and what the financing would ultimately cost, he realized there was far more to credit than getting approved or knowing a score.

Filed. The part he had never really read.
  1. The return that changed how he saw taxes

Taxes taught the same lesson from a different direction. For years Steven assumed his returns were being handled correctly. He trusted the process, looked at the number at the end, and signed without really reviewing what was reported.

  2. When the pieces came together

It mattered later. When he began working toward buying a home, those returns came back into focus — and he realized something on them needed attention. What gets reported doesn’t stay on the page. It follows you into the decisions that matter most.

  1. The bigger picture

Two different moments, one root cause: important decisions were being made without a clear view of the whole picture. Credit, taxes, and the structure underneath them aren’t separate files. They shape each other, and together they decide which goals are actually within reach.

That is why TaxFunders leads with education, and why it keeps this work in one organized place rather than scattered across people who never speak to each other.

The connection

Different numbers. One financial life.

A credit decision can affect borrowing. A tax return can affect a home goal. Cash flow, debt and savings affect what is possible next.

These aren’t separate financial lives. They’re pieces of the same one.

TaxFunders was built to help clients understand how those pieces connect, and to organize the strategy around the goals they’re actually working toward.

Credit strategy, tax preparation and financial coaching in one connected place, with education at the center — so the next step always makes sense in the context of what you’re working toward.

Our commitment

Education first. Always.

I don’t want someone to leave TaxFunders simply knowing what to do next. I want them to understand why they’re doing it, what got them here, and how to make better decisions moving forward. Because if we solve today’s problem without helping you understand tomorrow, we haven’t done enough.

What education first means

We believe a client should understand the decisions they’re making, not simply be handed instructions. That’s why education is built into the way we communicate, explain strategy, and serve our clients from beginning to end.

What we believe

Your goal is where the strategy begins.

Improving your credit may be the immediate need, but there's often a bigger reason behind it. A home you want to purchase. A car you need to finance. An opportunity you want to be ready for. A financial goal you don't want your credit standing in the way of.

The same is true with your finances. Creating a budget isn't the destination. Neither is paying down debt or building savings. Those are steps toward something bigger: greater stability, a financial cushion when life happens, preparation for the future, and the freedom to make financial decisions from a stronger position.

  1. Goal

    What you're actually working toward.

  2. Understand

The financial picture around that goal.

  3. Strategize

A direction built for your situation.

  4. Act

Clear next steps you can follow.

  5. Review & adjust

Because situations change, and strategy should too.

That's why TaxFunders looks beyond the immediate need. We want to understand what you're working toward, what may be standing in the way, and what needs to happen financially to help you move closer to that goal.

Steven Figueroa is the Founder and Lead Financial Strategist of TaxFunders Financial Group, where he brings together credit strategy, financial coaching, and tax preparation through an education focused approach.

His work is centered on helping clients better understand the financial picture in front of them, identify what deserves attention, and make more informed decisions about their next steps.

The same experiences that led Steven to build TaxFunders continue to shape how he serves today: listen first, explain clearly, build with purpose, and never lose sight of the person behind the numbers.

What we stand for

The standards behind how we serve.

Our mission is to help people better understand the financial decisions in front of them and provide the education and strategy to move forward with greater confidence. Our vision is to build a company where growth never comes at the expense of those principles.

Education
A client should understand the decisions they're making, not simply be handed instructions. Understanding should always be part of the process.
Integrity
Do what's right, even when the easier answer would be more convenient. Trust is earned through honesty, responsible expectations, and doing business with integrity.
Clarity
Financial decisions are easier to navigate when the information behind them makes sense. We make complex topics easier to understand so clients can decide what comes next.
Strategy
Results matter, but so does how we pursue them. We focus on meaningful progress tied to your goals while staying grounded in what we can actually control.
Accountability
A strategy only matters when it becomes action. Clear next steps, consistent follow through, and accountability on both sides of the relationship.
Community
Financial knowledge becomes more powerful when it is shared. We want the education we create to reach beyond individual services and become useful to the communities we serve.

Credit & Financial Strategy, the Financial Reset Program, and Tax Preparation are distinct services, but each is guided by the same standards.

Why we do this

Your finances. Your goals. Our strategy.

TaxFunders Financial Group was built around education, understanding, and personalized strategy — so the people we work with can make more informed financial decisions, and understand why those decisions make sense.
